• Contrary to popular belief, it is actually HEAT that diminishes solar production,  reducing output efficiency by 10-25%.  Colder temperatures enhance energy production.
• The tilt of the racking along with the panels dark, reflective glass, promotes accelerated snow melt. 
• Even with mild coverage, sunlight still has the ability to penetrate through the snow. It is the sun's light, not heat, that generates electricity. 
• New technology actually takes advantage of the reflective capabilities of the snow on the ground. The snow acts like a mirror, reflecting extra sunlight towards the panels enabling increased production. This is known as the "Albedo Effect".
• Snow also helps to clean your modules. Similar to snow melting off of a car's windshield, it takes with it all debris... another win for the snow!
• We design your system based on your site's historic snow load, calculated over the past 30 years. That means your system is already sized to anticipate this coverage and you do not have to manually remove the snow unless you want to!

Yes! Heat pumps have come a very long way in the past few years. Thanks to new technology, certain brands are now designed to handle even the harshest of Adirondack winters. It is important to note, a majority of brands cannot handle our cold climates, so proper system design and installation is imperative. 

Our team has dedicated the past four years to mastering this technology and it all started with experimenting with our own homes first. 

We can confidently say that Heat Pumps can and will perform efficiently at our design temperature.  These units are around 220% more efficient than any other heat source. Efficiency does begin to decrease in extreme cold, but the systems are rated to perform down to -22. Your units will continue to perform with even colder temperatures, but may require a backup heating source if you prefer to keep your home at a specific temperature. 

We received direct guidance from a professor at Cornell University, concluding that the best value for your first dollar spent is on heat pump technology and your second dollar is best spent on insulation.  A great investment idea would be to use your rebate check to further insulate your home to increase performance and save electricity. 

We recommend that you check and clean your heat pump filters at least every 4-6 weeks. 

Homes with numerous occupants and/or furbabies will need to do this more frequently. This is a quick and easy process that our team will show you during the final walkthrough.

   -New York State Sales Tax Exemption 

• Yes, "New York State" and "Tax Exemption" were used in the same sentence, you read that correctly! Your project (including labor and materials) will not be subject to sales tax. 

   -Energy Conservation Improvements Property Tax Exemption 

• Even though your home value will increase, this exemption prevents the taxes on your property from increasing when you convert to solar power for at least 15 years.

• $800 for partial loads
• $1200 for full loads 

  Federal Tax Credit

•  30% of project costs, up to $2,000

This tax credit is effective for products purchased and installed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2032.
